Dow has an opening for a Senior Tax Specialist in Indirect Tax Planning Team based
in São Paulo, Brazil. The role is accountable to work in a high-performance
cross-functional team environment to execute tax planning and tax compliance
activities regarding the indirect taxes.
Responsibilities:
Monitors, develops, and analyzes Tax legislation proposals and their impact on Dow
companies.
Prepare and review requests to the Tax Authorities (voluntary disclosure, tax
refund, consultation, etc.).
Tax planning - Increase tax savings and tax efficiency related to the operation
performed by the Company. Identify risks and avoid tax assessments.
Special regimes - analysis of the legislation, negotiation with the tax
authorities, preparation of the request, monitoring of deadlines, renewal, etc.
Analysis and monitoring the Tax Balance and suggest new scenarios to the business
in order to reduce accumulated credits and get better financial results to the
Company.
Provides support in functional due diligence and planning for mergers and
acquisitions.
Participates in local projects with commercial people, legal, and controllers.
Demonstrates initiative and certain degree of leadership in this role, and may
provide informal guidance to new team members.
Elaborate white papers, procedures, presentations, tax forms, tax calculations,
reports.
Working capital analysis to approve indirect tax credits recovery.
Collaborate with internal departments (purchasing, invoicing, supply chain, legal,
sales, post sales, etc.).
Document, implement, optimize and improve the processes/procedures for tax
compliance;
Support the monthly closing process and all tax-related tasks regarding the
indirect taxes (considering the taxes that we have today and tax that we will be
implemented with the tax reform);
Review and validate tax returns (EFD ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contributions, GIA and others);
Review the correct tax credits and debits calculation related to the indirect
taxes (considering the taxes that we have today and tax that we will be
implemented with the tax reform);
Ability to understand and work with ERP systems (previous experience with Synchro
and SAP systems will be a plus).
Help attending the Tax Audit Team;
Qualification
Bachelors degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics Business or related
field.
Advanced English - strong oral and written communication skills.
7+ years of solid experience in Indirect Tax Planning.
Strong knowledge of indirect tax legislation.
Good knowledge of tax compliance routine will be a plus.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and an understanding of tax law
and tax treaties.
