Position:
Product Development Manager & Chinas Office Manager
Location:
Balneário Piçarras, SC or Vila Olímpia, SP - hybrid model 3-2
Reports to:
Marketing Director One Newel Brazil
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span all lines of business,
especially for Appliances;
Full project life cycle ownership:
successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to
deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously;
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships
to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization;
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies,
risks and issues, communicating across leadership;
Analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape
requirements, features and end products;
Coach, motivate and supervise project and product team;
Manages the supplier qualification process for Asia suppliers, defining criteria,
implementing the audits and sharing the results with the leadership;
Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution;
Define, implement and manage the quality assurance process, testing methodologies
and supporting tools for Asia sourced finished goods and SKDs;
Manages the compliance testing, certification, and surveillance with OCPs for
Brazils Inmetro electrical safety certification for Asia sourced finished goods;
Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation as needed;
Manages the quality inspection process in China assuring 100% pre-shipment
inspection, approving/rejecting the reports received from inspector and
communicate the results for Brazil shipment release, for SFG;
Build strong relationships with suppliers to support product development, quality
assurance and sourcing initiatives;
Participate in sourcing fairs in China providing technical and experience support
to the sourcing team from Brazil, enhancing and enabling the relationship between
local Chinese suppliers and Brazil staff when required;
Execute and supervise administrative tasks on a day-to-day basis;
Responsible for the China Office budget, headcounts and general management;
Monitor Chinas Office staff performance and complete performance reviews.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering field
Fluent English & Portuguese
Relevant experience in product development management within the full project life
cycle
Experienced in the consumer goods sector, preferable appliances, electrical or
electronic
Availability to travel to China 1-4 times per year
