04-Oct-2024 Cloud Architect 730533BR Your Role and Responsibilities An IBM Cloud Architect designs, develops, and implements scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using IBM Cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, container orchestration, serverless computing, and databases. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, engineers, and project managers, to translate business requirements into technical designs and ensure successful deployment and maintenance of cloud-based systems. Additionally, IBM Cloud Architects stay current with emerging trends and best practices in cloud engineering and maintain expert knowledge of IBM Cloud offerings. Introduction IBM Consultants work directly with our clients on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of their business issues and implement organizational strategies that drive adoption of change. We are looking for experts who can build credibility and trust with our clients and provide knowledge that addresses individual and unique business needs. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and implementation strategies Proficiency in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud systems using IBM Cloud technologies Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools like Terraform and CloudFormation Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines Understanding of security principles, encryption methods, and identity and access management techniques Excellent communication and presentation skills Preferred Skills: Certifications in relevant cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect) Experience working with big data and analytics solutions, such as Apache Kafka, Spark, and Databricks Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Previous experience leading architectural designs and migrations to cloud environments Working knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks and libraries Familiarity with serverless computing and managed services offerings Experience with cloud migration assessment and planning Required Education Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree About Business Unit IBM has a global presence, operating in more than 175 countries with a broad-based geographic distribution of revenue.
