The Audit Lead and Inventory Controller position, based in São Paulo, Brazil, is a
pivotal role responsible for overseeing external, internal and statutory audit
activities and inventory management across Brazil and other Pandora LATAM markets.
This role combines responsibilities for both internal and external audit functions
with key inventory control and cost accounting controlling duties.
In this dual-function role, you will act as the primary point of contact for
External Auditors during both Group and Statutory Audit processes, as well as for
Internal Audit and Business Services (GBS) teams in Brazil and Mexico City. You
will ensure the effectiveness of internal controls by identifying gaps, designing
remediation plans, and monitoring their implementation. Regular reporting to
management on ICF ranking details, mitigation plans, and audit developments will
be a core part of your responsibilities. You will also standardize control
documentation across markets, coordinate control changes, and collaborate with
Global Process Owners to develop and implement effective controls into end-to-end
processes.
In addition to audit-related activities, you will manage inventory control and
cost accounting functions. This includes overseeing detailed analysis of inventory
movements, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory
valuations. You will be responsible for overseeing the accurate posting of import
entries, intercompany balances, and standard cost entries, as well a controlling
the reconciliation between the general ledger accounts with inventory ledgers and
other systems. You will work closely with finance operations (shared service
centers), tax, and IT teams to streamline inventory processes and ensure accurate
financial reporting.
You will also serve as the primary contact for auditors concerning inventory, cost
accounting, and intercompany transactions, maintaining organized records for audit
purposes and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. Your role will
involve identifying and implementing process improvements in inventory management
and cost accounting activities, preparing regular inventory reports for senior
management, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Audit Coordination and Communication
Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audit teams, finance
operations, and market control owners on Internal Control Framework topics,
ensuring effective communication and resolution of audit issues.
Coordinate the annual external Group and statutory audit processes, including
organizing kick-off meetings, establishing timelines, and reviewing past audit
findings.
Serve as the main contact for auditors concerning inventory, cost accounting, and
intercompany transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP and company policies in all
financial reporting.
Full responsible of the overruns management across the in-scope markets.
Control Effectiveness and Compliance
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and processes, identify
gaps, and develop actionable plans for improvement.
Conduct internal compliance reviews for Group policies across the in-scope LATAM
markets.
Report monthly to management on internal control status, mitigation plans, and
audit developments, and standardize control documentation across departments.
Inventory Controlling and Reconciliation
Oversee inventory management by analyzing inventory movements, resolving
discrepancies, and ensuring accurate count adjustments.
Oversee the controlling of the reconciliation of the general ledger accounts with
inventory ledgers and modules, ensuring accuracy in inventory valuations and
financial statements.
Reporting and Process Improvement
Prepare and distribute regular inventory and cost accounting reports to senior
management, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory and cost accounting
activities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices for data integrity and accuracy in inventory and cost
accounting records.
Collaboration and Promotion
Work with Global Process Owners to design and integrate controls into end-to-end
processes, and collaborate with GBS Managers, Team Leaders, and Local/Cluster
Organizations to develop and execute remediation plans.
Promote the importance of audit activities and represent the organization to
external auditors and internal partners, ensuring the effective implementation of
mitigation plans.
Job requirements:
- Experience in external and internal auditing, compliance, finance process
improvements, and inventory controlling;
- Strong background in general ledger processes and international accounting and
auditing standards;
- Experience in the retail or fashion industries is preferred;
- Proficiency in Portugues (native), English (advanced) and Spanish (advanced) is
essential;
